Over the past few years, Bay Area bred singer/songwriter SiairaShawn, has been creating waves with her covers of tracks like Andre 3000’s classic “Prototype,” and Alicia Keys’“Unthinkable.”
Now the futuristic moody songtress is on the brink of releasing a new project entitledThe Missing Peace. The collection of cover songs will be accompanied by two bonus original tracks, and visual for the loosie single “Icarus.” The video, which was directed by fellow Bay Area creativeMelinda James, takes a simplistic approach to really allow viewers to take away the lyrics of the song.
With the song, SiairaShawn really wants people to listen to the lyrics and take away something different every time that they listen to the Knxwledge produced track. Of the creation process, SiairaShawn says, ”With this song, specifically, I wanted to explore when we find ourselves in situations with others that are not good for us, when does the point come where it is on us to stop it, to lift ourselves out of the situation? When do we take responsibility for our own happiness?”

In the coming months, League510 will drop their new project Slumps & Fist Pumps. To get fans ready for that full-length, group members T.K.: Other Realm, Knowitall, and Mk Smth will release a string of free tracks and videos – some will be pulled from the album; others will be non-album loosies – the first of which is the non-album track, “Representa.”
“We wanted to make an anthem for Oakland,” explains League510, “an anthem for the whole Bay.” The song is produced by T.K., who got creative in sampling one of the Bay’s biggest national hits in some time, Kreayshawn’s “Gucci Gucci,” while the League takes turns spitting Bay-centric bars. “Everywhere I go, it’s still business,” raps Knowitall, “A’s on my New Era snap-back.”

T.K. Other Realm, Mr. Knowitall, Monty, and Mk Smith, the collective otherwise known as The League510, are excited to release visuals for their latest single, “We Out Here.” Knowitall handles the production on the synth-infused, 808-kick-and snare-heavy track, which according to the League, serves to remind fans that the Bay Area crew is staying busy as they put the finishing touches on their forthcoming LP. “The inspiration behind this song,” remarks T.K., “was to give the people some heat.”
The visual, directed by ApehouseTV was shot in a warehouse in west Oakland. “We were crusing through the streets of west Oakland and stumbled across this warehouse,” notes The League, “The people working there were real cool and let us record without any interruption.”
